Background and Mission

Human Performance is about changing people’s lives through physical performance and exercise. It is a holistic program about helping people believe they can be anything they want to be in life, given the right support and environment.

Performance = Talent x Environment

Human Performance educates, inspires and enables athletes to reach their greatest potential. It provides support services tailored to the specific needs of the athlete, and creates the optimal performance environment, through the development of a genuine human connection, to allow them to achieve excellence.

It is the journey not the destination that defines your greatness in sport and life.

The Human Element

Human Performance’s approach to physical performance utilises a comprehensive understanding of sports science, psychology of behavioural change and elite sports performance, yet recognises that more is necessary for supreme athletic excellence.

Essentially, underpinning all of the above is the human element; about forming a life-long relationship with an athlete, a genuine relationship based on the exact needs of an individual athlete and what it takes to help them excel to the best of their athletic and human capacity.

 It is about genuinely caring about how the athlete progresses and how they can be inspired, every single time they train or play, to be the best they possibly can be.

A message from Tom Carter

When you retire as a professional in your career, all you have is two things:

  • The memories of what you achieved in your career.
  • The regret of what you possibly could you have done to be better.

The second point is the only thing that consumes your existence every single day.

It is the regret of knowing you can’t ever change how you prepared every single day to be the best you could possibly be.

Everyone has an opinion on how you can be better, or what you need to do mentally, physically or skill-wise to perform a certain level, but ultimately very few will help you each step of the way. To master your own inner struggles and self-doubt, to be the best version of yourself can be and to maximise the skills you have developed and were born with.

One thing I know for sure, is that to be the best athlete in the world you have to have a purpose, the greatest mission statement ever, and when you have that clearly in place, I will guide you there and take you on the journey.

Whatever you invest in this journey would be insignificant compared to what you would achieve in return.
